Get ready for some serious nostalgia.
Back in September 2019, aka another lifetime ago, NBC decided that it was time for all of us to revisit Bayside High. The execs announced that they were making a reboot of the famed after school favorite, Saved By The Bell.
Do you surely remember Zach Morris, Kelly Kapowski, AC Slater, Jessie Spano, and Screech? Of course, you do. Well, the new show is joining the legion of reboots we've seen and will be making its debut on the new streaming service from NBCUniversal, Peacock.
When do you ask? All I can tell you is 'soon'. According to Peacock, who dropped a trailer for the new series this afternoon.
In the trailer, we see Jessie and Slater reminisce about going back to their old alma mater, a sneak peek at the new stars of the show, and even a reference to the iconic caffeine pill episode that was so controversial back in the day.
Jessie is a guidance counselor and Slater is the gym teacher. Mac will be taking over the lead cute boy role from Zack and in a smart plot move, plays the son of legendary Zack Morris.
Get ready to feel old because the original series is more than 30-years-old and the Saved by the Bell: Wedding in Las Vegas series finale was 26-years-ago.
The synopsis of the show reads as follows: When California governor Zack Morris gets into hot water for closing too many low-income high schools, he proposes they send the affected students to the highest performing schools in the state – including Bayside High. The influx of new students gives the over-privileged Bayside kids a much needed and hilarious dose of reality in this comedy inspired by the classic late '80s/early '90s sitcom of the same name.
