Tamar Braxton Rushed To Hospital After Alleged Suicide Attempt

Tamar Braxton was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital after being found unconscious.

Tamar Braxton is an American singer, actress, and television personality. The Braxtons are a quintet of sisters that led to a successful career for the eldest, Toni. Tamar Braxton is the youngest of her siblings including her sisters Toni, Traci, Towanda, and Trina, as well as her only brother Michael, Jr.

All five members starred in a reality series called Braxton Family Values, which in turn, led to a spin-off series called Tamar and Vince. The show's fifth and final season premiered on November 9, 2017.

On Thursday, July 16, 2020, reports have surfaced that Tamar Braxton was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital after being found unconscious.

“There was a medical emergency call generated related to a possible overdose at 9:45 p.m.,” said a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department on Friday, July 17. “The person was then transported to a nearby hospital.”

The Blast broke the news at 6:13 am UTC. According to sources, Tamar was staying at the Ritz Carlton Residences in Downtown Los Angeles, near LA Live, with her boyfriend David Adefeso.

It was alleged that Braxton had been drinking and had taken an unknown number of pills. Adefeso believes it to be a suicide attempt.


Braxton and Adefeso host a show on YouTube called “Coupled & Quarantined,” which was scheduled to air Thursday night. A message was posted on their channel that read “Hello Ya’ll Unfortunately, Your girl Tamar is under the weather today and not feeling well so we need to postpone today’s show (Don’t worry it’s not Covid). We’re sad because we had a great show lined up for you today, but next week’s show is going to be even bigger and better. So sorry for the inconvenience, we know many of you look forward to the show every week. we’ll make it up to you next week.”


The couple also have an upcoming show on WE tv called, "Tamar Braxton: Get Ya Life." The first trailer for the show was released Thursday, and in it, Tamar is seen arguing with producers about being portrayed as the "angry black woman." It has been alleged that Tamar felt blindsided by it and hated the way it portrayed her.

“Tamar has had a very tough and emotional day,” her rep said in a statement to The Blast . “More information will be coming in the next few days. Please pray for her.”
