Apple Martin is a rising star. With parents as famous as hers, that isn't really a surprise though.
Born to Grammy Award winning singer, Chris Martin of Coldplay and Oscar winning actress and entrepreneur Gwyneth Paltrow, Apple was almost destined for success.
Upon her birth Apple Blythe Alison Martin was a sensation on social media. Her name made her Google's top-searched celebrity child in Hollywood. When she was born, her father released a song in her honor. I'm sure that Apple might find it a little cringeworthy these days, but it was made in fun! It was posted on YouTube and called "I Am Your Baby's Daddy" using the pseudonym The Nappies.
Apple has her father to thank for her unusual name. In an interview with Oprah Paltrow said that her then-husband had selected it, but she loves it too. The name is lovely and clear, and conjured up images of sweet wholesomeness.
On May 14, for Apple's sixteenth birthday, Gwyneth Paltrow shared a rare snap of her daughter along with a sweet message. Apple is protective of her images and Mom is only allowed to post them with permission.
"I can’t believe I’m actually writing these words but... happy sweet sixteen my darling girl. You are the light of my heart, you are pure joy. You are wickedly intelligent and you have the best, most dry, most brilliant sense of humor. I have the best time being your mom. I love our nightly evening chats when I really get to hear what’s on your mind. You work hard to get whatever it is you want to achieve, and you have grit and responsibility in spades. I am so damn lucky to be your mother, you beautiful, kind young woman. Thank you for choosing me. I adore you to the moon and back a zillion times. I’m sorry you are having this particular birthday during these circumstances, but as always with you, you find the best in everything. 💝"
Happy Birthday Apple!
