Meghan McCain, often controversial columnist, author, and television personality took to social media this weekend to share some personal news.
The co-host of The View revealed that she is pregnant. McCain is also the daughter of 2008 presidential candidate and U.S. senator John McCain and Cindy McCain.
Meghan said she will start self-isolating immediately and begin appearing on The View via satellite during the coronavirus outbreak.
McCain is married to conservative writer Ben Domenech and the pair feel “blessed to find out” she’s expecting a child.
“Although this isn’t how I expected to announce my pregnancy, both we and our families are excited to share the news with you all,”
A source close to her told PEOPLE : “She and her family are very excited by the news. But right now, she’s finding strength at her role at The View. She knows her most important responsibility is to inform Americans to stay home and minimize the spread of the coronavirus.”
The news of this pregnancy comes eight months after she wrote a heartbreaking op-ed revealing she suffered a miscarriage. In the piece she wrote for the New Your Times she opened up about how she spent a lot of time blaming herself for not being able to carry her pregnancy to full term.
"My miscarriage was a horrendous experience and I would not wish it upon anyone," she writes. "I loved my baby, and I always will."
McCain won't be the only show host to be stepping away from the studio in light of the coronavirus crisis. Fellow co-hosts Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg are already staying at home in light of the pandemic.
Sending you two happy and healthy vibes!
