This is a whole new meaning to the term "car pool."
I know back in the day we used to do some crazy things. I remember being a kid and riding in the car with my family, and my brother and I would be sitting in the back seat with no seatbelts on, just playing on the floor of the car. Back then, things were a little more fast and loose when it came to safety.
That being said, I don't think my parents ever would have done what this woman did to her kids. The Dixon, Illinois Police Department released a statement after a story of kids riding in a pool on top of the car gained some traction.

How insane is that? Putting your kids in a pool on the roof of your car is just...well, that's next-level stupid. The story has been shared almost 6,000 times on Facebook, and people don't understand what this mom was thinking.
"I am trying to fathom how any mother could even remotely think this was a safe idea!!! Wow!" Angie wrote.
"Okay you can afford an Audi but not to go to Wal-Mart for a freaking pump to blow up a pool?" Wendy questioned. "Beyond ignorance even before putting the kids on the roof. Thats just icing on the cake. I hope that someone steps up because that's crazy. What else would be done without thinking about kids safety."
