Happening Now: David Blaine Is Floating Across Arizona Desert Held By Balloons

He is set to take flight over the desert in Page, Arizona, using balloons.

Do you remember David Blaine?

You may remember back in 2012 when he was buried underground in a plexiglass coffin underneath a 3-ton water-filled tank for seven days.

Well, he's back, September 2, 2020, Blaine plans to grab a bunch of balloons and float across the Hudson River from New Jersey to New York City.

*Update: It appears that David has changed plans and is set to take flight over the desert in Page, Ariz.

Blaine originally wanted to stage “Ascension” in his hometown of New York City on Aug. 31. But the forecast for wind conditions in the Big Apple and overall safety concerns prompted him and his team of aviation experts to move it to Page, Ariz. (about 130 miles north of Flagstaff).

“Arizona is one of the best locations for ballooning,” Blaine said. “It allows for pretty optimal conditions.”

Blaine’s Ascension does not have a firm start time, since it's extremely dependent upon wind conditions. However, the live stream has already begun and as I write, the crew said take-off was in about 10 minutes.

You can watch the live stream of Ascension below.

Good luck!
