57-year-old Rebecca Grossman, who has founded the Grossman Burn Center with her husband Dr. Peter H. Grossman, has been arrested on two counts of vehicular manslaughter.
On Tuesday, September 29, 2020, at around 7:10 p.m., at the intersection of Triunfo Canyon Road / Saddle Mountain Drive, City of Westlake Village two juveniles were struck by a motorist while crossing the street.
One juvenile was pronounced deceased on the scene; the second juvenile was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased a few hours later. Rebecca Grossman was arrested on the scene for two counts of vehicular manslaughter, bail set at $2,000,000.
The two victims in last night’s fatal traffic collision have been identified as Mark and Jacob Iskander. The older boy said to be a sixth-grader at Oaks Christian School.
"The children were walking with their family. It is a very tragic situation. The mother and father were able to pull the other two children back in time, and the vehicle struck the two other children," Capt. Salvador Becerra of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.
Grossman has also been accused of fleeing the scene of an accident, Lost Hills Sheriff’s Capt. Chuck Becerra told The Acorn . Becerra also cleared up early rumors that Grossman’s Mercedes carried one of the child victims on the hood of the car and subsequently ran him over before later coming to a stop, saying it was not true.
Each charge of vehicular manslaughter carries a possible sentence of up to six years in prison.
