She comes from the UK and prides herself as being a British and Zulu drummer girl. When you watch her drum, you know that she has a passion for it.
Nandi is a bit of an internet sensation as of late, her talents have gotten her a lot of attention. She has been on the Ellen Show and received a brand new black Fender Soul Power Stratocaster in June from Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine. Nandi’s parents are John and Lungi Bushell are from Esikhawini in KwaZulu-Natal and the UK respectively. She credits her good taste in music to them.
On August 17, 2020, Nandi shared a video on social media, calling out the epically talented drummer Dave Grohl. "My dream is to one day jam with Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, and all the Foo Fighters," she captions her posts. "Mr. Grohl I would love to have a drum battle with you! I LOVE Everlong it’s really hard to play as it’s so fast but so much FUN!!!"
Never on to disappoint his fans, Dve Grohl responded! "Challenge accepted," he posts on Twitter. "I haven't played that song since the day I've recorded it in 1997," continues Grohl.
"Nandi, in the last week, I've gotten at least 100 texts from people all over the world saying, 'This girl is challenging you to a drumoff. What are you going to do?'"
"You're an incredible drummer," he adds. "And I'm really flattered that you've picked some of my songs to do for your videos and you've done them all perfectly."
He later challenged her back by jamming out to "Dead End Friends" by Them Crooked Vultures. Nandi has accepted and posted this response: "This is UNREAL! I can’t believe Dave Grohl actually accepted my drum battle! This is the best day EVER!!!"
